To Lose Weight PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bob Gill

An overweight person is usually defined as someone whose weight is 20% or more above their ideal body weight. If you are obese or overweight, your health is considered to be at risk and you should be seeking help to lose weight. Failure to seek help or not to eat food that helps you to lose weight, could see you possibly developing diabetes or heart disease.

Research tells us that the main cause of Type 2 diabetes is obesity. Too much fat in the body causes it to resist insulin, so your cells don't get enough energy. Type 1 diabetes is inborn, we are told, but Type 2 diabetes is associated with the way we live and the amount of fats and sugar we consume. Any accumulation of fats in the body and the body resists insulin.

Childhood obesity is of particular concern, especially as the incidence of overweight children has more than doubled over the last 30 years. Statistics tell us that 16% of youngsters in the States between the ages of 6 and 19 are overweight. These figures are a warning, research tells us, because overweight children eventually become overweight grown-ups and, therefore, they are likely to have health problems.

Many people believe that to lose weight you need to go on a "crash diet". They don't necessarily pay attention to the type of food they eat; they just cut back on the calories. The problem with this method is that the body will react to the calorie drop-off and automatically adjust itself by lowering our metabolic rate - resulting in us not losing weight.

Conventional diets don't work. Forget about most of what you have heard about "low carbs" or "low fat" diets. You may achieve a temporary weight loss with other programs, but instead use an eating plan that will allow you eating a normal 4 meals per day, without hunger, and which will give you permanent weight loss. This may seem controversial, but please be advised that a program exists to enable you to lose weight permanently without starvation.

Losing weight efficiently involves regulating your food consumption. You should know that consuming particular food at the wrong time of day will mean your body will store fat instead of burning calories. Only by eating certain food at predetermined times of the day will you burn fat. It's not the way you have been advised before, but I can guarantee this way gets results - you will lose weight. Many people globally swear by this eating plan.

This eating program is sometimes referred to as the "Shifting Calories" because it involves shifting certain types of food eaten. You eat your normal 4 meals a day, without skimping, but the concentration is on eating irregularly on a daily basis. Amazingly, even though there is no food restriction, the body is tricked into raising its metabolism through shifting calories. It is the irregular eating program, then, that helps you to lose weight.

You don't feel hungry with this program as a variety of carbs, proteins, vegetables and fruit is offered. Various menus can be made on food types you like, as long as you stick with the irregular eating pattern. If you want to lose weight permanently, then, I encourage you to try this successful program.
